Relevant personal
skills:
Communications Skills
I am a natural communicator used to making presentations both
inside and outside the classroom. I was involved in student government
during the first two years at Queens University and I was
the Student Representative for the MA Course at the University
of Sussex..
My experience in film production has taught me such skills as
delegating, fundraising, negotiating, and marketing. It also gave
me an opportunity to work with a wide variety of people.
Analytical Skills
I have made presentations based on interpretative analyses of
critical theory and research. Most recently, I conducted a seminar
on East Asian economics incorporating historical and economic
facts in a media context. I have the ability to set budgets and
to meet them as a result of my experience in student government
and in film production.
Creativity
While studying at Queens University in Kingston, I participated
in a project to raise funds for student film production. We held
monthly screenings at an auditorium and charged admission. I anticipated
a net gross of $2,500 Canadian but in the end we achieved a total
of $4,200.
The names and addresses of two referees are available on request.
